Good morning! We're on the Road to Hana, a famous day-long drive that covers many beautiful locations along the northeast coast of Maui.

We left at about 7:30 a.m. to "beat the rush" and our first stop was at this roadside park.

We hiked the nature trail, about five minutes through damp undergrowth to the top.

As you can see at 8:00 a.m. it was already a beautiful day!

On the way down Nancy found this pretty flower in the dim undergrowth and posed for a photo op.

This was supposed to be a spectacular waterfall but at the end of the dry season it wasn't so magnificent.

Still, the hike up to see it was interesting, with lots of slippery dirt trails next to thousand foot dropoffs ... watch your step!
